Preparation Guide

• Turn all interior and exterior lights on, including lamps, porch/garage lights
• Open all window blinds
• Ceiling fans should be clean and turned off
• Move trash cans out of sight
• Empty sinks and stow away sponges, dish drainer, dish soap, etc.
• Remove clutter and large appliances from counter tops
• Avoid personal photos if possible
• Clear artwork, photos, magnets from refrigerator
• Hide pet beds and food/water bowls
• Put toilet seats down
• Fold and hang towels neatly
• Remove laundry and waste baskets from bathroom and bedrooms
• Clear personal toiletries, toothbrushes, razors, etc. from bathroom counters
• Make beds and clear off nightstands
• Hide large toys and bulky items
• Closets can be used to hide belongings
• Walk-in closets can be photographed if requested
• Secure all animals or remove from the home if needed
• Try to avoid over-decorating and unnecessary clutter

Exterior:

• Cut grass and tidy up leaves and yard debris
• Roll up water hoses
• Close garage and remove cars from driveway
• Use garage to store/hide household items if needed
• Garage will not be photographed unless requested
• Trash and recycle bins can be placed in garage or out of sight
• Avoid holiday decor
• Remove realtor and security signs if possible
